Mix all the dry ingredients then add in the egg and the coconut milk in bits to make a dough. Knead this for 10-15Mins.
Cover and place the dough in a warm area to proof for 30Mins. Cut into diamond shapes and fry till golden brown.
For the syrup, mix water, sugar, vanilla and cardamom pods allow to boil till sticky. Reduce flame to low then add in your fried Mitai and stir continuously. After a while, the sugar will crystallize. Get it off the flame and allow to cool.
