SOMALI ANJERO RECIPE Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup of All-purpose flour
  • ¼ Cup of maize flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • ¾ tbsp. salt
  • 1tbsp yeast
  • 1 ½ cup of warm water
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • 500gms of meat strips
  • 1 tbsp. garlic & ginger paste
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 Bell peppers
  • 1 bunch of Coriander
Steps

ANJERO

  1. Add the all-purpose flour, maize flour, sugar, salt and yeast into a bowl and mix.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a smooth consistence is achieved.
  3. Cover the bowl and put it in a warm place for 3 hours.
  4. Pour the batter on a pan and cook until golden brown.

MEAT STEW

  1. Put oil in a pan.
  2. Add the meat strips.
  3. Add garlic and ginger paste.
  4. Add ¾ tbsp. of salt and stir.
  5. Cook the meat until tender.
  6. Add the chopped onions.
  7. Add mixed bell peppers and coriander and stir.
  8. Let it cook for 1 minute.

Serve with Anjero while hot.
